Evak Engineering, the Wallsend based manufacturer of specialist engineered components, has successfully maintained its ISO 9001 certification with the support of North East compliance specialist, Pentagon Assurance.
Established in 1981, Evak Engineering provide a range of engineering services from specialist engineered parts and prototypes, to welded fabrications and machine shop turning and milling for various industries including subsea. By achieving this recertification, Evak has demonstrated the ability to consistently provide its customers with high quality products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Paul Keast, Managing Director of Evak Engineering said,: “We are very proud that we have once again been accredited with the world’s most recognised quality management standard – ISO 9001:2015. Quality is part of the Vision at Evak, and the team are fully committed to ensuring our systems provide accuracy, assurance and support to our customers and suppliers.
“It was great to have the knowledge and experience of the team at Pentagon Assurance, they worked hard to create a cost-effective, bespoke service for us, meaning that the process was as simple and stress-free as possible.”
Barry Cooper, Managing Director of Pentagon Assurance said: “This re-certification cements Evak’s reputation for quality, and affirms the on-going improvement cycle within the business which translates into successful performance and continued success. Evak are a local family business and this certification helped to open doors that would otherwise remain closed. Even for a smaller business, having a management system makes the business more organised, easier to manage and less prone to mistakes. This saves money and helps provide a better service to customers, ultimately helping to win more work.”
ISO 9001 is the world’s most recognised quality standard for organisations, large or small, that prove their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet the needs of their customers and other relevant stakeholders. The standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, leadership, involvement of people, the process approach and continual improvement. It requires businesses to demonstrate that they have a Quality Management System in place to ensure consistency and improvement; leading to high levels of performance and customer satisfaction.
